Mixology Class with Mari Kamata at The Peninsula Manila




Mari Kamata, one of Japan's top bartenders visits The Peninsula Manila and gets behind the bar at The Salon de Ning for a 2 day show of talent and skill. Join her Mixology Class on November 24 & 25, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.






Learn the details and inspirations behind each cocktail, carefully spun with artistic touches to add on to the classic familiar pieces. Featuring premium 10-yr old Ardbeg single malt whisky, Belvedere Pure vodka, and Hennessy VSOP cognac brands from Moët Hennessy, and with additional festive season alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, the mixology class will explore the art and science of mixology while you sip on the cocktails paired with canapés in the eccentric art deco interior of Salon de Ning. 



Each room at Salon de Ning offers a different experience and the best one will depend on your mood. I personally enjoyed the library / study setup the most, as my laid-back personality acclaims to its cozy look and feel; comfy couch and antique cabinets.
  


Mari Kamata's expertise is reflected in the numerous awards she has collected over the last 20 years of bartending, including the 2009 "Diageo World Class Cocktail Competition" in London, the 2013 "Gin Connoisseur Program" in France, a finalist spot at the "007 Belvedere Challenge 2015" in Sydney, and the top prize in the 2016 "Seven Star Train Cocktail Recipe Competition" in Japan.



Mari Kamata's proficiency in the classics give her a solid foundation for creativity and adaptability to cater to any drink a customer may request.

The mixology session will be featuring 5 drinks:

1. Mocktail of Hope



2. Matcha Martini (650 PHP)

Starting the alcohol portion of the session with a refreshing cocktail made from traditionally prepared green tea matcha and Belvedere Vodka for alcohol.


3. Blood and Sand

The smokey smooth blend of Ardberg Single Malt Whisky with Earl Grey Tea and clove-infused Vermouth Rosso, Cherry Heering and fresh orange juice.


4. Hennessy Negroni

Cocktail culture is alive at The Peninsula Manila, and you can experience it in detail at Salon de Ning with guest mixologist from The Peninsula Tokyo, Mari Kamata.
