San Francisco

The golden city of San Francisco. It's been a decade since my last visit and it's as magnificent as I remember. We decided to divide our stay into two hotels for strategic reasons. First we stayed at Marriott Marquis San Francisco since it is located right across Moscone West Convention Center where my Mom attended her meetings.

After a few days downtown we moved uphill to the historic Huntington Hotel a 136 room boutique hotel anchored atop the posh neighbourhood of Nob Hill. It's a quiet part of the city distant from major attractions due to its steep terrain and being mainly a residential area.

The hilly contour didn't stop us from exploring San Francisco on foot. We walked from our hotel on Nob Hill all the way to the bottom end of Lombard street to take a touristy picture of it (seen below). Afterwards we climbed up the stairs along the most crooked street in the world to catch a cable car towards Ghirardelli Square for some well deserved sweets.
